Renee Ann Pflughaupt is the Orchestra Manager of Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra. She joined the orchestra staff in 2015 and handles all details of concert production. In addition to her responsibilities for ensuring concert productions and rehearsals run smoothly, she also coordinates auditions, manages payroll, schedules services for contract musicians, hires extra and substitute musicians as needed, manages the orchestra music library and provides for all of the orchestra’s music needs.
In summer of 2015, Renee was accepted as one of thirty-one nationwide participants into the League of American Orchestras’ Essentials of Orchestra Management program. This intensive eleven-day course — which involved a competitive application process — covered in depth all aspects of orchestra management and leadership. Course staff comprised of esteemed industry leaders, including former San Francisco Symphony CEO, Brent Assink; former Reno Philharmonic CEO, Scott Faulkner; former St. Paul Chamber Orchestra CEO, Bruce Coppock; and current Seattle Symphony CEO, Simon Woods.
A Nebraska native, Renee received both her Bachelor’s of Arts and Bachelor’s of Journalism News‑Editorial in 2012, studying clarinet under Diane Cawein Barger at the Hixson‑Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts. Renee continues to perform clarinet in local ensembles, including the Lincoln Civic Orchestra and Omaha Symphonic Winds. Before joining LSO, Renee worked as a writing consultant, providing writing and editing services for local nonprofits and small businesses.
